How it all started...
Hi, my name is Amy Smith. I am a mother of four, and now a grandmother to 3. I am an Elementary Education and Montessori certified teacher by degree and training, but I spent most of those skills raising my children and now helping raise grandchildren.
My husband got downsized from his corporate job in 2020 when the new private equity owners came to town. I told him that I would like to start a company selling things online. He asked me what I wanted to sell, and I told him I wanted to sell high end knitting yarn. He asked me if there was a market for it and I set off on my adventure. (BTW, the answer was NO, there was not a good market, and luckily he was not out of a job very long)
Through my several successes and failures over the next year, I bought a Brother 10-needle embroidery machine to customize masks to be sold online. I also decided to buy some Christmas stockings to personalize and sell online, and that is when it really took off. I bought 2 more embroidery machine within the next 3 weeks, and before I knew it I had an embroidery business.
As the business grew, I created relationships with manufacturers and created my own designs and specifications for my base products. Since I was ordering in bulk, I thought it would be a great extension of my business to sell these products to other embroidery shops across the country. That is how Holiday Blanks was born.
So keep this in mind when you order blanks from me:
- They are blanks I use, or have used in my own embroidery business.
- All of the blanks that I buy today, have been designed and specified by me.

BTW, the picture was the first step in my journey. The local Motherhood maternity store was going out of business. I bought a bunch of inventory, learned how to sell online, list products, ship product, package... I never made my money back from that effort, but boy did I learn a LOT!
